Important and critical infrastructure are aeronautical, chemical, commercial facilities, communication, critical manufacturing, dams, defence, emergency/essential services, engineering, food and agriculture, health care and public health, financial, IT, nuclear reactors, materials and nuclear waste management, transport, ports, refineries, space and water resources and waste water management sectors.
He superannuated from the rank of DG having spent three and half decades in various assignments in Manipur, Intelligence Bureau (MHA), ONGC/IOCL (MoP&G). He has rich experience in dealing with industrial and coastal security issues, national security, conflict resolution etc. He received a number of national level awards including Indian Police Medal (IPM), President’s Police Medal (PPM) etc given in recognition to his professional excellence.
Veteran of 1965 and 1971 wars and insurgencies in Mizoram, Nagaland and Punjab. After retiring from the Army joined IB and for over 7 years had undertaken evaluation of large number of vital & strategic industrial installations like Aeronautics, Airports, Banks, Defence, DRDOs, Mints, Nuclear Energy, Oil, Power, Ports, Prasar Bharti (AIR & Doordarshan Kendras) Railways, Refineries, Space, Ship Building & Telecom. Was responsible for clearing maps, aerial photography, films & satellite imageries. Conducted numerous industrial security & disaster management training programs, seminars, workshops & exhibitions & interacted with numerous Ministries, Departments & NGOs. Co-edited Udyog Suraksha the bimonthly industrial security magazine of the Intelligence Bureau for 6 years & contributed regularly articles on industrial security. Is a prolific writer, authored 6 books, including the only book on Industrial Security in 2 volumes! Was awarded Commendation Cards by the Indian Army & IB & ‘Best Case Study Award by International Institute of Security & Safety Management (IIS&SM)'.
